Welcome to Rui, a haven for conscious parents seeking sustainable, artisanal, and timeless clothing and toys for their little ones. My name is Tanvir Kaur and I’m the founder of Rui. I started this brand when I became a mom, and realized the scarcity of options that matched my values and needs. I quit my corporate career in New York to focus on this dream.

Rui’s vision is simple yet profound – to provide parents with an alternative to the mainstream market. We believe in offering products that go beyond fashion trends, embodying the principles of consciousness, sustainability, and artisanal craftsmanship. Every piece in the Rui collection is a testament to this commitment. Inspired by the desire for breathable fabrics like cotton, I decided to name this brand: ‘Rui’ which is a Hindi word that translates to “cotton” – the superhero material that lets kids be wild, comfy, and adorable bundles of joy that they are.

I partnered with talented women artisans who share my vision and passion for creating beautiful products that are good for the planet and the people. Together, we design and craft each piece with sustainable fabrics like cotton, using small-batch production and low-waste processes, striving to minimize our ecological footprint. We also support fair trade practices and provide home-based employment opportunities for our artisans.
